Individual therapy for anxiety, overthinking, and high-functioning stress. In-person anxiety treatment in NYC, Hoboken, and Montclair, or online.

Most of the people I see for anxiety do not appear to be falling apart. From the outside, they look like they’re succeeding - it may be at work, in their relationships, in milestones, or achievements. But what you don’t see is that exhausting internal loop underneath all of it. If you've ever looked completely fine on the outside while your mind was rehearsing every possible way something could go wrong, you know the loop I mean.

What Your Anxiety May Look Like…

  • Chronic overthinking, rumination, or a mind that won't land on "good enough"

  • Physical anxiety: a tight chest, a racing heart, a stomach that's rarely settled

  • High-functioning anxiety that shows up as over-preparing, over-apologizing, or over-controlling

  • Anxiety tied to work, perfectionism, or fear of disappointing people

  • A pattern of anxiety that's been there so long it feels like personality, not something treatable

How I Actually Work

I use CBT, ACT, and exposure-based tools like ERP in our sessions together. These are proven behavioral methods for anxiety symptom reduction, and I use them because they can be incredibly supportive and give you real skills for the anxious moments happening right now, this week, today.

But anxiety doesn't come out of nowhere. It usually has a history. A lot of the time, it was actually protecting you at some point, keeping you careful, keeping you prepared, keeping you loved by people who needed you a certain way. So alongside the practical tools, we also talk about where the anxiety came from and what it's still trying to do for you. Understanding that part is usually what makes the tools actually stick, instead of feeling like something you have to force yourself through every time.

What You Can Expect in Therapy

Sessions run 45-50 minutes, typically weekly to start, with frequency adjusted as you stabilize. Early sessions focus on a thorough intake — your history, current symptoms, and what's actually maintaining the anxiety so we can build a treatment plan that's specific to you, not generic.

From there, sessions combine structured, evidence-based work with more open clinical conversation. Some sessions will focus directly on skill-building cognitive restructuring, exposure planning, distress tolerance. Others will focus on the underlying patterns driving the anxiety, since sustainable change usually requires both. I'll track your progress with you throughout treatment, and we'll adjust the approach as needed rather than running a fixed protocol regardless of how you're responding.

You can expect direct clinical feedback from me, which looks like what I'm observing, what the anxiety seems to be doing for you, and concrete strategies to use between sessions. This is collaborative, active treatment, not passive support.
